Ferreri & Fogle, PLLC is proud to announce that Denise Smith Motta joined the firm on July 1^st.  Ms. Motta will practice from the firm’s various offices, which are located in Louisville, Lexington, Erlanger, Bowling Green, and Huntington, WV.

After over 10 years of practicing at a regional Ohio law firm, Ms Motta primarily will practice in the firm’s civil litigation practice group.  Ms. Motta has extensive experience defending complex litigation claims in state and federal courts.  Her background in complex litigation includes defense of manufacturers and distributors in product liability cases and representation of companies in personal injury, premises liability, construction defect, and other negligence cases.  Ms. Motta also is experienced in handling commercial and employment litigation.

Ms. Motta has significant experience in defending complex product liability claims in the mass tort arena.  She is experienced in the coordination of litigation on both the national and state level, having represented companies on both fronts, and has been involved several cases coordinated in multidistrict litigation. Ms. Motta’s experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device arena provides her with a unique perspective of identifying scientific and medical issues presented in the cases she handles and provides a great advantage to defending cases involving complex scientific and medical claims.

Ms. Motta’s extensive litigation experience includes handling all aspects of defending cases, including drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, and appellate briefs; deposing parties, fact witnesses, treating physicians, and expert witnesses; conducting fact witness interviews; arguing motions and appeals; participation in settlement negotiations and mediation; trial preparation; and trial.  Ms. Motta also regularly speaks on CLE programs, has numerous publications in legal journals, and is actively involved in DRI.

Ms. Motta was named an “Ohio Super Lawyer Rising Star” in July 2007.
